The reconciliation villages created after the Rwandan Genocide are an extraordinary example of the way people can work towards healing, even after experiencing the most devastating acts and events. In these villages the genocide victims and the perpetrators had rebuilt their lives together in a gradual and intentional process, one step at a time, brick by brick toward the strength to forgive and love again with Jesus in the center of this process.

Very often bridges may be terrifying - too high or too dangerous, but they may also lead us to the most incredible places. We, as people of God are like bridges. If we are willing to be a bridge, we have to be willing to be walked on and sometimes even scarred. Nevertheless, we should not hesitate - by using this bridge, people can get to know God's creation and will for them, the diverse beauty He has planted in the human hearts and ultimately eternal life.

The search for relational reconciliation makes us cross boundaries, enables trust and candid discussions about the deepest things in life. Tyler Johnson shares why relationships are so important, how the search for relational reconciliation through the John 17 Movement deepened his relationship with Christ by deepening his relationships with other people, and why he thinks this is the fundamental path to knowing God.

The John 17 Movement is praying and hoping to initiate, without taking anybody away from being part of their own denomination, that we would come together as brothers and sisters in Christ and invite one another around the tables that God has given us in our own individual homes. And share the message Jesus asked us to share - the new Commandment He gave His disciples - to love one another as He loved them.

Jesus is the Center of our lives and we belong to Him. When other things start competing with our relationship with Jesus, they become divisions, more important to us than our relationship with Him. The differences are what make me unique, but it is our relationship with Jesus that brings all our uniqueness together.
ONE TALKS
ONEtalks, an initiative of the John 17 Movement, are 15-minute live presentations given at official ONEtalk events. The themes are centered on Christian unity. In a divisive world we want to shed light on efforts being made to bring people together.
On the night Jesus was betrayed, he prayed: “that they will all be one, just as you and I are one-as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me” (Jn. 17:21). Jesus’ prayer for His followers is that they should be unified through their love for one another.
