gathering in bulgaria june 2018
“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!… For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.”
What an INCREDIBLE & BLESSED time in Sofia, Bulgaria!! There were a number of significant relationally rich gatherings that took place with leaders from Bulgaria where J17 Director Joe Tosini shared the vision and purpose of John 17; fundamentally that it is simply a response to Jesus’ longest and final prayer before his betrayal and arrest on that fateful evening of His passion. Continuing, that at the heart of J17 was relational reconciliation between believers in the Body of Christ representing Roman Catholics, Eastern Orthodox and Protestants. During one such meeting, a pastor who had been imprisoned for his faith during the Communist time asked permission to wash the feet of visiting J17 leaders, Joe Tosini, Les Hughey and Don Curry. It was exceptionally humbling and healing for all present. On the final evening in Sofia, the capital city, Peter Petrov had reserved an auditorium in the UN Building where people and leaders from around the nation gathered. Several people spoke, including Bulgarian Pastors and John 17 leaders, and at the conclusion 6 leaders from Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic and Protestant churches washed each others feet in front of those gathered. It was profoundly inspirational, healing and humbling and expressed better than words what John 17 is all about.
